¼ Year Behind
The average US public school student in grades 3-8 lost the equivalent of a half-year of learning in math and a quarter-year in reading, according to the Education Recovery Scorecard, a collaboration from researchers at the Center for Education Policy Research (CEPR) at Harvard University and Stanford University’s Educational Opportunity Project.
If your organization works with 3rd through 8th grade students in disproportionately impacted North County communities to improve academic success, we invite you to apply for Rancho Santa Fe Foundation’s Advancing Education grant.

Advancing Education is a key Impact Pillar of Rancho Santa Fe Foundation, focused on unlocking the boundless potential within our community.
We are committed to supporting nonprofits that are creating a seamless pipeline of learning opportunities, starting with early childhood education and continuing through K-12, post-secondary education and workforce development.
Our most recent round of grant funding had a microfocus on North County communities and learning loss for 3rd - 8th grade students. Future grant cycles may have a different microfocus.
At Rancho Santa Fe Foundation we embrace participatory grantmaking which actively involves the community impacted in the decision-making process. This ensures that community needs and insights directly shape equitable funding choices.
