About RSFF’s Building Healthy Communities Grantmaking Pillar

Building Healthy Communities is an essential Impact Pillar of Rancho Santa Fe Foundation, designed to foster a healthy, resilient, sustainable future for our community. We support organizations that are working proactively to educate the community about emerging health issues and combat them as they arise.

Through RSF Foundation's Collaborative Grantmaking Pillars, donors have the added benefit of knowing that each nonprofit has been thoroughly vetted through an application process that is reviewed not just by staff and the GPC committee, but also by an expert Grants Advisory Panel.

The 2024 round of grant funding has a microfocus on North County communities and organizations working to improve youth mental health.

Participatory Grantmaking

At Rancho Santa Fe Foundation we embrace participatory grantmaking which actively involves the community impacted in the decision-making process. This ensures that community needs and insights directly shape equitable funding choices.

Benefits of participatory grantmaking:

  • Donors make informed giving decisions which increase the impact of their charitable contributions.
  • Nonprofit organizations experience (or gain) greater alignment between needs and funding.
  • RSF Foundation fosters stronger partnerships and meaningful engagement in our shared community.
