Community foundations in the U.S. have a 100-year history of collective giving to support philanthropy and address community needs. The collaborative principle of community foundations is that donors can create greater impact together than they can individually.
“People of every means have an opportunity to create and receive social good through their local community foundations. While community philanthropy is available in multiple forms, no other organizations are as aptly called the public face of philanthropy.” – Council on Foundations Leadership Team Report
The Rancho Santa Fe Foundation is a community foundation, established in 1981. We provide personalized charitable giving services, grants to local and regional nonprofit organizations, expertise in philanthropy and the nonprofit sector and leadership for addressing pressing issues in the community.
The RSF Foundation has grown from a small group of visionary volunteer leaders in Rancho Santa Fe to an expanding team of professional staff, a 25-member board, and over $100 million in net assets. Our donors give to nonprofits locally, nationally and internationally from the funds they establish and entrust to us for investment stewardship.
As we grow and look to the future of San Diego County, we continue to envision and implement ways to build community in our region. The Community Impact Fund, The Patriots Connection and the RSF Women’s Fund are significant ways that the Rancho Santa Fe Foundation connects people and nonprofits to strengthen our communities.
