Name of organization: Disabled Sports Eastern Sierra
Your mission: We believe the freedom and exhilaration of outdoor challenges changes lives. No one should be left behind simply because of a disability!
What is one thing your organization is excited for next year? DSES is excited to expand our mountain bike programs, provide additional veteran programs, and implement our Fall 2022 Strategic Plan! We are currently enjoying great snow conditions at Mammoth Mountain Ski Area, which promise exceptional winter programming this year.
What do you wish the community knew about your organization? DSES supports adaptive recreation all year long – and some people love summers in the Eastern Sierra more than winters! In winter we mostly downhill ski, snowboard, cross country ski, and snowshoe, and in the summer we provide opportunities for paddling, road and mountain biking, hiking, and more.
What is one thing you and your team exceed at? Sharing the excitement of outdoor sports to meet participants goals – whether it is skiing a beginner ski trail independently for the first time, or supporting mono ski training for competitive sport.
How has having a fund with RSFF helped your organization? We are grateful for support from RSFF. Having a fund with RSFF helps us better achieve our goals and support more veterans, families, and people of all ages with disabilities explore adaptive recreation.
